১। খরচ কেমন পড়তে পারে?

এটা tricky question. তবে আমার মতে সব এদিক অদিক খরচা বাদ দিয়ে হলেও একেবারে কিপটা ভাবে করলেও সাড়ে তিন লাখ লাগে। আমার নিজেরই আগে ধারনা ভুল ছিল।

my total cost:

Gre: 205 usd

Toefl: 180 usd ( now 190)

university apply: 800 usd ( applied in total 8 universities)

visa apply: 360 usd (with sevis fee)

vaccination: 140 usd

plane ticket: 1200 usd (washington)

you must take around 1500 usd

shopping: 600 usd (one must buy or have one laptop. In my case I do not have one)

So In Total: 4985 USD.

They have increased the amount of sevis fee by 150 dollar. So add another 150 bucks :\

So 4,23,507 BDT.

You can apply in less universities, and plane tickets can be cheaper if you book them early. If you have a laptop, you do not need to buy another one. Other costs are more or less same. So, sare tin lakh.

২) এটা আমাকে আমার dept এর পিচ্চিরা জিজ্ঞেস করে। বোটানিতে opportunity কেমনঃ

Good news. Any pure science subject has numerous opportunities. I mean really, there are so many opportunities, so many areas you can go.

৩) বেশ কয়েকটা university থেকে অফার লেটার আসলে, কিন্তু পছন্দের university এর decision পেতে late হলে, try your best not to accept any university before the absolute deadline. আমি জানি ব্যাপারটা টেনশন এর। কিন্তু এটার উপর আমাদের দেশের নাম depend করে। আর এম্নিতেও, আপনি এই field এই যাচ্ছেন, so good impression can go a long way. যেমন আমি সুন্দর ভাবে offer reject করেছিলাম দেখে অনেক university ই আমাকে বলেছে পরে ms শেষ করে phd তে তাদেরকে consider করতে। অনেক university থেকে I 20 নেয়াটা উচিত না।

৪) university তে gre, toefl, sop এসব পাঠানোর আগে recommendation letter এর invitation টা পাঠায়ে রাখুন। Sir রা busy মানুষ, তাদেরকে enough time দেয়া উচিত এটা পাঠানোর।

৫) gre পড়তে কত দিন লাগে?

একেক জনের উপর depend করে। আমার নিজের brain below average.তবে ছোটবেলা থেকে english literature এ exposure আছে। তিন মাস লাগছে।

টোফেল ই দেয়া উচিত আম্রেকা টার্গেট হলে। আমি ২১ দিন prep নিছি (khubi lazy vabe)। gre এর পর দিলে একদম মাখন লাগে :P

৬) ওয়ার্ড মনে রাখব কিভাবে?

একেক জন একেক রকম। আমার কিছুই মনে থাকেনা। কিন্তু গল্প আকারে হলে gist মনে থাকে। তাই আমি একেক দিন ৪০ টা ওয়ার্ড নিয়ে তা পড়ে তারপর চেষ্টা করতাম অই ওয়ার্ড use করে গল্প লেখার।

৭) Visa interview:

এখানেই অনেকেই এটা নিয়ে লিখছে। কিছু পয়েন্ট add করব। আপনি চাইলে এক ds 160 form দিয়ে interview এর ডেট নিয়ে আবার visa application এ অন্য ds 160 number দিতে পারেন। Problem হয় না। (age janle visa interview ta aro 1 mnth age dite prtm)

আর ভিসা ইন্টারভিউতে full fund থাকলে ভয়ের কিছু নাই। আমার টা 50 sec লাগছে তাও আবার আফ্রিকান আমেরিকান ভদ্রলোক এর কাছ থেকে যিনি বলে one of the hardest nut to crack. Many have a notion that they will give you a hard time if you can not show any employment for a year or two. In fact, I had done three internships in this fear. Well, the vo did not ask me anything at all about this. May be mohila quota :P But nothing to worry about even if you are a boy.

I am really grateful to many people who had helped me in this journey.
